01Scope
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between you and SoundDeck (“we”, “us”). It covers the SoundDeck desktop software, its updates, and the sounds and assets bundled with it (together, the “Software”).
If you get SoundDeck through Steam, the Steam Subscriber Agreement also applies. Where the two conflict on purchasing, your Steam account or refunds, Steam’s terms take priority.
02Your license
Once you have purchased SoundDeck, or been given access to it (for example, a beta invite), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on Windows PCs that you own or control, for as long as the license stays in your Steam account and you follow this EULA.
The Software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights we don’t expressly grant here.
03Multiple PCs
You may install SoundDeck on each Windows PC you personally use — for example, a gaming PC and a laptop — signed in to your own Steam account. Running it on several machines at the same time follows Steam’s rules for your account. A single license is for one person. It is not a site licence for a team, studio or venue.
04Streaming & monetization
You may broadcast, record, upload and monetize any audiovisual stream, recording, podcast or video production in which the Software is used or shown — royalty-free and without secondary license fees from us. This grant covers the SoundDeck application interface, routing engine, and original bundled DSP voice presets.
Third-Party Audio & Game Sounds: Community sound packs, user-imported audio, and sound clips originating from third-party games (such as Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, or viral internet memes) remain the property of their respective copyright holders. SoundDeck does not own or sublicense third-party game assets. Streamers and content creators are solely responsible for verifying appropriate rights, permissions, or fair-use exemptions when broadcasting third-party audio.
05Your content & Steam Workshop
You keep full ownership of the sounds, layouts and presets you create. If you publish content through Steam Workshop or share codes, you:
- confirm you have the right to share it;
- grant other SoundDeck users a free, non-exclusive license to download and use it inside SoundDeck;
- accept that Valve’s Steam Workshop terms apply to the upload.
We may remove shared content that infringes rights or breaks our Terms of Service.
06Restrictions
Except where applicable law expressly allows it, you may not:
- copy, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute the Software, or offer it as a hosted or cloud service;
- decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the Software, beyond what EU law permits for interoperability;
- bypass, disable or tamper with licence checks, update mechanisms or security features;
- extract the bundled sounds or artwork and distribute them outside SoundDeck as a standalone pack;
- remove or alter copyright, trademark or licence notices.
07Third-party components
SoundDeck is built on Electron and Chromium and includes open-source components. Each is provided under its own licence, listed in the app’s licence notices. Nothing in this EULA restricts the rights those licences give you.
VB-CABLE is a separate product from VB-Audio Software. You install it yourself, and its own licence governs it.
08Updates
We deliver updates, fixes and new features through Steam. Updates become part of the Software and fall under this EULA. We will provide the updates needed to keep the Software in conformity, as required by consumer law, and we won’t remove a core advertised feature from a version you bought unless the law allows it.
09Warranty
You have the statutory rights that EU and Belgian consumer law give you for digital content, including the legal guarantee of conformity. Nothing in this EULA limits them. Beyond those rights — and for free beta builds — the Software is provided “as is”, and our liability is limited as described in the Terms of Service.
10Termination
You can end this EULA at any time by uninstalling the Software. It ends automatically if you materially breach the restrictions above. When it ends, you must stop using the Software and delete all copies. The sections on your content, restrictions, warranty, and governing law continue to apply afterwards.
11Governing law
This EULA is governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring a claim in your local courts.
