The short versionUse SoundDeck for fun, streams and content — monetized or not. You’re responsible for the sounds you play and for following the rules of the games and servers you join. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer.

01About these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and SoundDeck (“we”, “us”), operated from Belgium. They apply when you use getsounddeck.com, join the beta, or use the SoundDeck app, Phone Companion Deck or Remote Producer.

Your use of the desktop software itself is also covered by our End User License Agreement, and our handling of personal data by the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with these Terms, don’t use the site or the software.

02The VIP beta

SoundDeck is currently in private beta. Joining the VIP list doesn’t guarantee an invite, a beta slot or a launch date.

Beta builds are pre-release software. They can contain bugs, change without notice, lose settings, or be withdrawn. Please don’t rely on a beta build for anything critical, and keep backups of sound files you care about. Feedback you share with us — in Discord, by email or in the app — may be used to improve SoundDeck, without any obligation to you.

03Buying SoundDeck

SoundDeck will be sold through Steam. Purchases, payment, refunds and your Steam account are governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Valve’s refund policy. What you may do with the software is set out in the EULA.

SoundDeck runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). Routing sounds into Discord or in-game voice chat requires a virtual audio cable such as VB-CABLE, a free third-party driver from VB-Audio Software that you install separately under its own license. Check the system requirements on the store page before you buy.

04Streaming & content creation

You may stream, record, upload and monetize content in which SoundDeck is used or visible — on Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, Discord or anywhere else — without paying us royalties or licence fees.

That permission covers SoundDeck’s own software interface, audio routing engine, and original preset DSP algorithms. It does not cover audio from third parties that you load into SoundDeck (such as game voice lines, sound effects from third-party titles, or copyrighted music clips): you are solely responsible for ensuring fair-use or necessary rights to whatever you broadcast.

05Your sounds & acceptable use

You are responsible for every file you import, bind to a hotkey or play into a voice channel. You confirm you have the rights, licences or a legal exception (such as quotation or parody) to use it. You agree not to use SoundDeck to:

  • harass, threaten or intimidate other people, or spread hate speech;
  • impersonate someone in order to deceive or defraud;
  • play recordings of people made or shared without their consent where that is unlawful;
  • break the rules of a game, server, platform or tournament you take part in;
  • break any law that applies to you.

Game publishers, server admins and platforms may mute, kick or ban players for how they use soundboards. That is between you and them.

06Games & anti-cheat

SoundDeck is a normal Windows application. It doesn’t inject code into games, read or modify game memory, or interact with anti-cheat systems. Games see SoundDeck’s output the same way they see a microphone.

We can’t promise that every game, league or tournament allows soundboards or voice changers. Check their rules before you play.

07Companion Deck & Remote Producer

Anyone you approve through Remote Producer — or anyone who can reach the Companion Deck on your local network — can trigger sounds through your microphone. Only approve people you trust, keep session codes private, and end a session as soon as you no longer need it. You are responsible for what is played on your deck during sessions you approve.

08Our intellectual property

The SoundDeck name, logo, software, website, artwork and trailer are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms don’t give you any rights to them beyond what the EULA grants. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Discord and all game names are trademarks of their respective owners. SoundDeck is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

09Availability & changes

We work to keep getsounddeck.com, the beta list and the portal available, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or retire website features. Changes to features of software you have bought are governed by the EULA and your statutory rights.

10Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. Nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.

Within those limits, we are not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data you could have backed up;
  • mutes, kicks, bans or account actions taken by games, servers or platforms because of sounds you played;
  • outages or changes of third-party services such as Steam, Discord, Windows or VB-CABLE.

The free website, beta builds and preview pages are provided “as is”.

11Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live. Otherwise, the courts of Belgium have jurisdiction.

Before going to court, please contact us. Most problems are solved fastest by email.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as SoundDeck develops. The current version always lives on this page with its effective date. If a change materially affects you, we’ll give reasonable notice before it applies.
